On July 10, 2019, our partners Hi-Key Technology (China), successfully held all-day technical seminars on numerical analysis of compressors and screw machines in Xi’an Jianguo Hotel. More than 30 researchers, development managers, engineers and designers from enterprises, universities and research institutes attended this seminar.
The day was divided into two parts: the first half involved exchange of technical knowledge by experts, whereas the second half was dedicated to training on SCORG. The seminars began with a welcome speech by Mr. Xie Aijun, Director of Hi-Key Technology Products Division.
Prof. Ahmed Kovacevic (Director, PDM Analysis) reported on the topic “Numerical Analysis of 3D Thermodynamics of Screw Compressors” and gave a detailed introduction of SCORG’s rapid thermodynamic performance prediction and 3-D mesh pre-processing capabilities in screw compressors. The participating customers left with a deeper understanding of SCORG’s screw compressor thermodynamic prediction principle, ‘N’ profile design principle and advanced 3-D grid generation technology.
Ms. Yanfen Huang, Technical Director of the Products Division of Hi-Key Technology shared a report on “Compressors and other motor mechanical fluid analysis solutions”.
Mr. Weiwei Wang, Product Manager at Hi-Key Technology, shared a presentation on the “Screw Pump Performance Analysis Solutions with CFD”.
Mr. Lu Yang from City, University of London shared a special report on “CFD Analysis of screw machines with SCORG & Fluent”.
This seminar covered a range of topics and different applications in order to provide the participants with thorough understanding of CFD technology in scroll and screw machines, as well as training on the latest version of SCORG (v5.7).
The specific topics of the training were as follows:
- CFD analysis of screw machines based on SCORG and Simerics MP+
- Fluid analysis of Scroll Compressors using Simerics MP+/PumpLinx
- CFD analysis of screw machines based on SCORG and ANSYS CFX
- CFD analysis of screw machines based on SCORG and ANSYS Fluent
- New features introduction and demonstration of SCORG V5.7
SCORG was developed at City, University of London’ Centre for Compressor Technology which is an internationally recognised centre of excellence in the field of screw compressors. The Centre cooperates with world leading manufacturers, research centres and well-known universities to provide effective screw compressor design and analysis solutions.
The seminars provided participants and customers with the opportunity to engage with the experts face-to-face as well as to explore many new applications in the field of screw machines.
