PDM Analysis at ICSM 2026: Connecting Research, Industry and Innovation

PDM Analysis was proud to sponsor the 13th International Conference on Screw Machines (ICSM 2026), held from 8–10 September at TU Dortmund University in Germany.

Due to unexpected travel delays in London, our team was unfortunately only able to attend one day of the conference. Despite the shortened visit, we were pleased to be part of ICSM 2026 and to have the opportunity to connect with researchers, engineers and industry professionals from across the international screw machine community.

A valuable meeting point for industry and research

One of the strengths of ICSM is the close connection between academic research and industrial application. The conference brought together technical experts working across different areas of screw machine design, modelling, simulation and performance.

 

 

Although only a day at the conference, we had the opportunity to engage in valuable technical discussions and exchange ideas with researchers and engineers working on the next generation of screw machines.

These conversations are particularly important to PDM Analysis. Understanding the challenges faced by researchers and machine designers helps us continue developing tools that address real-world engineering requirements.

Sharing the latest developments from PDM Analysis

As a sponsor, ICSM 2026 also gave us the opportunity to showcase SCORG®, our advanced software for positive displacement machine design, analysis and optimisation.

SCORG® supports engineers and researchers in areas including grid generation, computational analysis and performance prediction, helping users investigate machine behaviour and optimise designs more efficiently.

Our time at ICSM provided an excellent opportunity to discuss SCORG® with specialists working directly in the field. We were pleased to share our latest developments and, equally importantly, to hear about the challenges and priorities shaping current research and engineering applications.

Learning from the screw machine community

Although our attendance was shorter than planned, the discussions and conversations we were able to take part in were extremely valuable.

Events such as ICSM are about more than presentations and technical papers. The opportunity to exchange practical experience, discuss new research and connect directly with others working in the field is an important part of advancing screw machine technology.

 

 

The discussions we joined highlighted the continued importance of accurate and efficient simulation and analysis in the development of high-performance positive displacement machines.

Looking ahead

We would like to thank the ICSM 2026 organising team, TU Dortmund University, the presenters and all the delegates who contributed to the event.

We were delighted to support ICSM as a sponsor and grateful for the opportunity to attend, even though travel delays meant our participation was limited to one day.

The conversations and connections made during our time in Dortmund will continue to inform our work as we develop new capabilities and improvements for SCORG® and our wider range of engineering solutions.
