Posted on May 28, 2021

PDM Analysis team attended the 25th International Compressor Engineering Conference held at Purdue University, West Lafayette (Indiana), USA. Prof Ahmed Kovacevic and Dr Sham Rane were co-authors of two technical papers presented during the Conference.

CFD Analysis of a Twin Screw Compressor with oil injection

The research work uses the SCORG grid generator for the deforming twin-screw rotor domain grids and the Simerics-MP+ VOF solver for flow calculations. Performance results from the CFD model have been compared with experimental data provided by City, University of London to verify the numerical model.

Session: C-01 Screw Compressors

CFD Analysis of an ORC Vane Expander using OpenFOAM solver

The research work uses a SCORG grid generator for the deforming Vane rotor domain grids, and two flow solvers Ansys CFX and OpenFOAM V1912 have been used for flow calculations. Performance results from the CFD models have been compared with experimental data provided by the University of L’Aquila to verify the numerical model.

Session: C-04 Modeling and Measurement Techniques
