PDM Analysis receives the Award of Excellence 2022 for SCORG software!

It’s been a fantastic year and we are so grateful for the recognition from “South East Star” magazine and our special award for AWARD OF EXCELLENCE 2022. The award recognizes PDM Analysis and our SCORG software for our contribution to and excellence in the Specialised Design & Analysis Of Screw Machines.

PDM Analysis specializes in the design, analysis, and optimization of screw machines using our SCORG software. SCORG is specialized software for designing and analyzing positive displacement rotary machines. These include screw compressors, pumps, motors, expanders, roots blowers, rotary screw extruders, internally geared machines, vane machines, etc… The software was initially developed by a team of experts from the Centre for Compressor Technology at the City, University of London. In 2014, PDM Analysis was established to develop and market the software. Our partnership with the Centre is unique and has given us a platform to continually develop the software.

From our early beginnings, we have been focused on supporting industry and academia. PDM Analysis has a diverse range of clients including screw machine design engineers, R and D specialists, manufacturers, technical and business advisors, university professors, researchers, and students working on screw machine-related projects. We have also established global partnerships having successfully worked with some of the global leaders in the CAE (Computer Aided Engineering) field.

We make sure our SCORG users are happy

The greatest attestation to our success is by far the praise we get from our customers and SCORG users.

Here at OMIQ, we are specialised in vertical solutions for the virtual design of flow components. When a customer asked for the possibility of calculating a screw pump, we immediately thought about SCORG. And we were right! The tool is friendly, quick to learn and provides all the relevant design information. It also generates high-quality meshes for our main CFD simulation tool, SimericsMP. Overall, a very productive and fruitful experience.

– Federico Monterosso – Sales Director at OMIQ

SCORG software is a valuable tool for anyone designing positive displacement screw compressors. Aside from the capability to generate complex CFD meshes, the lower-order thermodynamic model and related calculation tools provide everything needed for the basic design and performance evaluation of screw compressors. The team at PM Analysis is very supportive and this is reflected by the new features and improvements introduced in every new release.

– Dr. David Buckney – Chief Engineer at Mayekawa UK Ltd.

We consistently work on developing SCORG

One of the reasons why SCORG customers and distributors are so happy with the software and PDM Analysis service, is that PDM Analysis is committed to consistently improving and evolving SCORG. We are open to embracing change, whether it’s emerging industry trends or advances in technology in our determination to ensure that SCORG remains one of the best software tools for positive displacement machines in the industry.

One great example of our innovation and continued development has been the launch of SCORG alto which is a cloud-based solution for the design and analysis of positive displacement screw machines. SCORG alto allows the use of our well-known software SCORG remotely on Microsoft Azure cloud machines. SCORG alto inherently enables smart functionality for both individuals and organizations, giving us the option to opt in and out of license agreements on a weekly basis. The registration and license approval processes are quick and easy. With built-in services in Microsoft Azure customers can rest assured that our data is completely protected. This is in line with our commitment to sustainable modes of working as Microsoft’s cloud data centers will be powered by 100% renewable energy sources by 2025.

We keep SCORG green!

Similarly, we plan to continue the development of both SCORG and SCORG alto as tools in helping reach the challenging targets for NetZero 2050. With SCORG software, users can optimize our machines and improve our energy efficiency. The future of rotating fluid machinery is bright and promising, which was endorsed at COP 26 held in Glasgow in November 2021. PDM Analysis takes this very seriously and is committed to doing our part in the process.

PDM Analysis is further committed to the sustainable advancement of the compressor industry through the research project of City University London called Project SECRET: Smart Energy Efficient Compression: Reliability and Energy Target. The project is funded jointly by the Royal Academy of Engineering and Glasgow-based compressor manufacturer, Howden. The aim of the project is to reduce losses in the new generation of oil-free compressors by 20%.

PDM Analysis is not shy to recognition

The reputation we have developed in the industry is fully justified and has earned us more tangible forms of recognition. Over the years, we have been awarded a multitude of recognitions. The most recent achievements include being awarded the Best Positive Displacement Screw Machines Design & Analysis Specialists – Europe 2021 in the Southern Enterprise Awards by SME News, as well as the Innovation & Excellence Award 2021 for being the Most Innovative in Compressor Technology.

The standing PDM Analysis enjoys on the world stage for our work is well deserved and has only been enhanced by our presence and some of the leading industry events in recent years. We exhibited at ME RoTic 2021 in the Middle East which coincided with Expo 2020 in Dubai. PDM Analysis was also exhibited at Air Tech 2022 in April of this year, the UK’s only dedicated exhibition for the compressed air, generators, and vacuum market. Most recently, PDM Analysis also made our presence known with booths at the International Conference on Screw Machines in Dortmund in September 2022 as well as at Chillventa 2022 in Nuremberg in October 2022.

Upcoming events

We will be sponsoring the 13th International Conference on Compressors and our Systems co-organized with the Center for Compressors at the City, University of London which will be held in September 2023. The conference will provide a forum for debate on developments in air, gas, and refrigeration compressors, vacuum pumps, expanders, related systems, and components. It will include participation from manufacturers of compressors, expanders and systems, control systems, equipment suppliers, users, and research organizations.

The challenge PDM Analysis faces in the future as our reputation grows and the demand for SCORG software increases will be to maintain the same high standards that have made SCORG the market leader. Given our current track record, we have no doubt this is something that will be achieved and that PDM Analysis is a name you’ll be hearing much more of in the years to come.
