Exploring Innovations at GTTC24

Posted on November 27, 2024

Over the past two months we had the pleasure to attend the Gamma Technologies Conference 2024 (GTTC24) in both Detroit, USA and Frankfurt, Germany. In Detroit, our Marketing Manager Amela was present, while in Frankfurt, Research Fellow at City, University of London Centre for Compressor Technology and our colleague at PDM Analysis Ltd, Sham Rane, had the opportunity to attend. Both being first-time attendees, they gained valuable insights into the latest developments in computer modelling, simulation, and their wide-ranging applications across industries. Below, we share their reflections and key takeaways from these exciting events.

A Wide Spectrum of Applications

GTTC24 brought together professionals from diverse industries to explore the capabilities of Gamma Technologies’ software solutions. While the automotive sector and electric vehicles dominated the event, they found the sessions on HVAC systems, positive displacement pumps, compressors, and their systems particularly informative. This breadth of application highlights the versatility of tools like GT-SUITE, which continue to drive innovation across a range of engineering challenges.

Trends Shaping the Future

One of the most notable themes at GTTC24 was the growing interest in machine learning, artificial intelligence, and digital twin technology. Many industries are actively exploring how these technologies can enhance workflows, optimize processes, and improve design efficiency. This trend has prompted software companies like Gamma Technologies and PDM Analysis Ltd to intensify their research and development efforts in these areas. For our team, these trends reinforce the importance of integrating cutting-edge tools into our research and projects.

Exciting Developments: GT-SCORG

A standout highlight of the event was the introduction of GT-SCORG, a new product set to be included in GT-SUITE’s 2025 release. This tool offers direct integration of the SCORG Geometry module with GT-SUITE’s system modeling capabilities, enabling seamless workflow enhancements. We’re excited about the potential applications of this tool in advancing our designs and simulations.

Building Connections and Collaborations

Sham and Amela both engaged in productive conversations with key figures at Gamma Technologies, as well as partners like Convergent Science, Thermo Analytics, and Simerics Inc. Strengthening these relationships provides valuable opportunities for knowledge exchange and innovation, aligning with our goal of fostering impactful collaborations with industry leaders.

Key Takeaway: The Rise of Simulation in Design

For Sham, the biggest takeaway from GTTC24 was the increasing significance of computer modeling and simulation in product design and lifecycle management. Industries are striving to integrate digital twins, real-time data, and machine learning algorithms into their processes, enhancing user experience and operational efficiency. This trend underscores the critical role of advanced simulation tools in shaping the future of engineering.

Looking Ahead

Sham’s and Amela’s experience at GTTC24 highlights the dynamic and rapidly evolving landscape of computer modeling and simulation. As we continue to leverage these tools in our research and collaborations, we remain committed to advancing SCORG Software through innovative solutions and industry partnerships.
