Webinar 28: New features in SCORG v2024

Posted on May 14, 2024

Prof. Ahmed Kovacevic presented the New Features in SCORG v2024. SCORG is our industry-leading grid generation and performance prediction software. It is a unique software for designing and analyzing positive displacement machines such as screw compressors, expanders, pumps, and motors.

This release is a significant step into design exploration. New features have been introduced to model Vacuum pumps with Quimby rotor profile as well as the 3D CAD design of screw compressor elements.

The major new features in SCORG v2024 are as follows:

Profile and Geometry Analysis

  • Profile generation of Quimby vacuum pump profile
  • Geometry calculation for Quimby vacuum pumps
  • Calculation of uniform and variable pitch chamber volume for vacuum pumps
  • Calculation of Port and Leakage areas for vacuum pumps

Thermodynamic Multi Chamber Model

  • Thermodynamic calculation of vacuum pumps with or without liquid injection
  • Minor improvement of performance calculations:
    • Implementation of McCoull viscosity model
    • Updated bearing loss calculation model

Design of Screw Compressor Elements

  • Parametric design of screw compressor components and assembly
  • Design of the male and female rotors, bearing selection and 3D SCORG display
  • Export of rotor design in variety of CAD formats – Inventor, DWG, DFX, STEP, IGES
  • Design of rotor and bearing casings with 2D representation is SCORG
  • Full parametric design integration with Autodesk Inventor

During this webinar, Prof. Ahmed Kovacevic showed how to use new features in SCORG v2024 to enhance your positive displacement machines’ design and analysis capabilities. Watch the recording to see how you can benefit from it by developing optimal designs and reducing the cost of physical testing.

You can try the demo version for free, but please be aware that the newest version to purchase has more functionality than the demo variant.

Also, you can check all SCORG features in  SCORG alto which is a cloud platform hosted in Microsoft Azure, enabling you to design and analyse screw machines using the software SCORG. Register and explore the abilities of our software by choosing the trial licence at a discounted price.
