SCORG V5.7 – Extension to new types of machines

Posted on April 19, 2019

PDM Analysis is pleased to announce the release of the new version 5.7 of software SCORGTM.

This release extends the range of machines that can be analysed by CFD from classical twin and multi rotor screw machines to internally geared screw machines and vane compressors and expanders.

It is now possible to perform very fast and accurate calculation of multiphase compressors, expanders, pumps and motors with Ansys-Fluent in addition to the STAR-CCM+, Ansys CFX and Simerics-PD solvers. The new parallel UDF enables further increase in speed on multicore computers. The combination of analytical and differential grid generation results in the best numerical mesh in the market for rotary positive displacement flow machines with helical screw rotors or gears.

New features related to Thermodynamic model are: separate setup of radial and axial discharge ports, setting relative and absolute pressure for oil injection (natural and forced oil injection), setting up multiple oil injected holes at different injection angles and accurate calculation of water injected screw compressors using SCORGTM thermodynamic multi-chamber model.

V5.7 also features integration with GT Suite of Gamma Technologies. GT-Suite is used as a performance solver and allows calculation and presentation of results directly within SCORGTM GUI.

Here are few slides on some of the exciting new features of SCORGTM v5.7. For details please refer to the updated Help Manual.

PDM Analysis Ltd would like to thank users of SCORGTM for their commitment to our unique software and for their comments and suggestions for improvements.
